Gmail distinguishes general sender requirements from additional bulk-sender rules. Authentication needs supporting operational evidence.

Delivery to personal Gmail and Googlemail accounts. Bulk means about 5,000 or more messages daily to personal Gmail accounts; Google counts the primary domain including subdomains. Unknown classification leaves conditional rules unresolved.

All senders need SPF or DKIM; bulk senders need both plus DMARC at least p=none and alignment. DNS alone cannot demonstrate successful message authentication. TLS, sending-IP forward/reverse DNS, message format and spam rate need other evidence. Marketing and subscribed bulk messages also need one-click unsubscribe and a visible unsubscribe link. Spam must stay below 0.3%; Google recommends staying below 0.1%.
