Mail routing
Check MX and DNS
Check mail routing, target resolution, null MX, DNSSEC and redundancy indicators.
Enter only the domain, such as example.com – without https://, a path or an email address.
A new check is available every 5 minutes per tool and domain. Until then, you see the saved result.
What the tool accesses
DNS.
How the check works
What exactly is checked?
- Find the authoritative nameservers and basic SOA data for the domain.
- Check MX records, priorities and any published null MX.
- Resolve every MX target to A/AAAA addresses and block non-public targets.
- Evaluate DNSSEC, CNAME targets, incomplete resolutions and redundancy.
Assessment
How is the result determined?
Passed means nameservers and SOA are present, MX targets resolve unambiguously to public addresses, and DNSSEC is secure or explicitly not enabled. A valid null MX is explained as a separate permissible state.
